Free video-first beta

Record one door cycle and let SpringSight flag balance risk.

This free homeowner screen uses a recorded garage door cycle to estimate whether the door looks safe, warning-level, or dangerous from motion and sound cues without asking you to disconnect the opener or test the door by hand.

Free Door Balance Check

Record one full door cycle from a safe distance. SpringSight reviews the motion pattern, drift, drop behavior, visible resistance, and usable sound cues to flag safe, warning, or dangerous balance conditions without asking you to handle the door manually.

  1. 1. Stand clear and record one full open-and-close cycle with the whole door in frame.
  2. 2. Do not touch the door, springs, cables, tracks, or opener release during the check.
  3. 3. Accept the notices, then tap Open Camera or select an existing video to start the review.
This free check is a video-based screening tool. It does not replace full spring sizing, door weight verification, or technician confirmation before repairs.
Accept the required notices first. Then tap Open Camera to trigger the browser camera prompt or use the video upload field below.

Required notices

When you tap Open Camera, your browser may ask for camera permission and may ask for microphone permission. SpringSight can still run a video-only balance review if microphone access is unavailable.

Browsers only open the camera or file picker after you tap the control. Best results: 5 to 15 seconds, full door visible, steady camera, normal opener use.

Use this only if the recorded audio is unclear or the main issue is noise-related.

What SpringSight checks in this beta

  • Visible drift, rise, or drop during the cycle
  • Motion smoothness and possible sticking or jerking
  • Side-to-side instability cues
  • Visible broken-spring and off-track/cable-off safety signatures
  • Whether the clip is strong enough for a safe balance estimate
